My 1989 Firebird's headlights have quit opening. They had always worked perfectly, opening and closing together, no problems. Then it got to where if you were running on highbeam very long the headlights would shut off. If you went to low beam they came back on. Then one night the headlights flickered (on low beam) I shut them off and they closed and never re-opened. The dash lights, taillights, and marker lights all work perfectly but the headlights don't open and don't seem to be coming on. What should I be looking for?

I would check the headlight switch first. I would also check the headlight relays. They are located right behind the headlights on the inside edge of the fenders. I just had a similar problem. Also, do you hear the motors running?
