Has anyone used these Summit Brand Race Radiators, they seem reasonably priced @ $170 to $180. Any opinions? thanks.

I use a Summit brand aluminum race radiator in my GTO. I live in South Texas, and when it gets cooler than 90 degrees here, I'm having a good day. I've got a 455 in my car, and the Summit radiator keeps it cool enough.

STXJudge, What size radiator did you buy for your GTO? My 71 LeMans has a 33-1/2" x 19" stock radiator and the closest size to mine that Summit sells is 31" x 19" Do you think this size will work for my application? I am putting in a fresh 400 4bbl set up w/ 10:1 CR. Thanks for your response.

Every car is different, but it should work. I got the 31x19 radiator for my car, and I had to fabricate some mounts for it, but it went in just fine. Let me know how that goes.

i bought one of the big summit rad's for my 71 GP, and it works pretty good as far as i can tell. at idle, i could sit all day long and it never creeped over 190. i also have a huge electric fan pulling through it too, so that helps. the only problem i had was when i got the rad. it was about an inch taller than the factory rad., and i had to make some brackets. pretty easy though, i just went to home depot and bought some 3/4"x4' aluminum straps and bent them to where i needed them. doesn't look half bad either.
