Back in the 70's when I weren't none too smart and gas was cheap... Built a 69 Camaro and put a RA 400 in it with a 3 speed stamped FOMOCO on the side that I was told was out of an older GTO. "Just beat on that firewall some more".

This was supposed to be temporary until I could get my 327 rebuilt (stold) and went overseas. I had a dual offy, 390 Holley's, Unilite, Crane custom grind, Rhoads, etc, etc. Had this car into the late 80's when I finally sold it for college.

The best part about the car was when you opened the hood (or tilted the front end) and they saw that Pontiac motor. You did what! Really pissed off a lot of Chevy guys. The avgas I mixed with shot some pretty blue green flames from under the car and really burned your eyes.

But the key was it was a blast to drive and build. Although I wouldn't reccomend one like this when your 17 and broke like I was.

I just liked the torque from my friends 69 Firebird before he wrapped it around a tree and I got the motor from him. Fastest car I ever sat in was a mopar this crazy stoner guy I knew had.

Speed is speed, give what it takes to make it happen.
