My friend was going to mix us up a pint of Iris Mist to use for touch ups as needed. He's having a very difficult time though finding the formula or a current mfg. If anybody that has the pleasure of owning one of these cars and can provide me with the name of a paint mfg or even the formula itself, we would really appreciate it.

There is a multi-page story on a couple iris mist GTOs in the 11/03 HPP. There is some discussions, but not specifics about matching the color. You might be able to contact the owners via HPP.
One refers to using "three coats of Deltron DBC custom mixed iris mist (DBC50693 Iris Mist), which Don had to research to arrive at the proper color." Another says, "The paint wasn't as tough to get as some say. Chevy had the same code "P" in 1965, but they called it enening orchard. We used Sherwin Williams paint." |
