I am going to be putting in a 454 mark 5 into my 80 firebird.the car has 400 pontiac in there now.

I already have chevy turbo 400 with adapter so that part is simple.I already have proper headers.

Wondering what exactly do I need for motor mounts and also what exactly do I need for oil pan.The engine was in a truck and I think it has the truck oil pan.

Also will the spark plugs be accessible as had air in the car its gone now but the air hump is still there.??

Anything else to make the swap easier or that I should know.I know the mark 5 has no provision for mechanical pump so will need and electric installed.Probably go fuel cell at same time.

80TAWS6,400,edelbrock carb,accel wires,dual exhaust,dynomax mufflers,3.42 strange gears,turbo 400,B&M converter/shift kit/etc., polygraphite everywhere,draglites.
14.24 at 97.40mph 2.21 60ft tazzo vpc.
1900 ft altitude.
99TAWS6 ..lots of mods.13.35 at 109 2.27 60ft tazzo vpc.
96 Z28 camaro vert,14.66 at 98.3 with 2.47 60ft

hey 80TA ,
No problem use moroso solid mounts both on the frame and the block. Oil pan clearance is not an issue stock pan fits as well as any aftermarket pan designed for a factory chassis.the air box will clear gm short valve covers you can notch the air box and re-glass the section you cut out.the #7 plug is the hardest to get to (directly behind the brake booster and the steering column) It is easier than others in here would have you believe.Have fun with your transplant.

Car is not a pure race car will likely be streeting it quite a bit also.So not sure solid motor mounts are a good thing.And as for oil pan are you sure about that.It was installed in truck.And its a mark 5 not mark 4.It has one piece seals and 4 bolt mains.I think the mark 5 use mark 5 specific oil pans.

Both Moroso and Milodon make Mark V, VI oilpans that will work in a second gen Fbody.

Get Camaro frame stands and engine mounts if you don't want solid mounts. Energy Suspension makes a nice poly mount as well.
