Anyone thats installing a cage and needs to hand notch tubing I found a free program on the web that prints out the miter shape on paper of any angle you need and you just cut it out and tape it on the tubing. Its set up for metric sizes but you can convert it w/ a calculator. Send me a e-mail and I'll either send the program or the link of the site.

Dude, it's a simple matter of parralel line development. Been doing it for years. Once you've got the pattern just save and reuse.

Well good for you partner Larry! So have I, except I have been using my AUTOCAD14 with a macro to do it instead. But found this program that works just as well, very simple and easy to use. Maybe someday you can show us your way of helping pass on info.

It's just basic old pipe/steamfitting fundamentals. I develop the stretchout onto a sturdy but flexible type of paper (manila folders), cut out the correct elipse', and use them as a wrap-around* pattern. But this autocad stuff is probably a lot faster and simpler. But this is where the root fundamentals came from. I would like to see it though.

*No Brian, not to be confused w/ a reach-around!
