I do not believe there is an E engine code for your year of formula ? Have you double checked the serial plate in the winshield ?

That's where it got it. Here's a shot. It's all I've got. The door was locked so I couldn't do better. It looks like an E to me.

A negative. I'm sure it was an E by looking at it in person.

Okay, thanks. I guess in 75 it would be a Pontiac V8 and not a Chevy?

Yep. I believe the last year for all Pontiac derived V8's was 1976. In '77 GM started using Olds and Chebbie V8's on anything less than 400 cu. in. with the exception of the Pontiac 301.

yes Dennis Smith, you're wright.
76 was the last year for all PONTIAC engine.

in 77, the 305 chevy came. the 350 and 403 olds too.
301, 350 and two 400 PONTIAC engine stayed.

This car no longer has a Pontiac in it. The sheet of paper says 1983 305 HO. Woooooo. An HO 305, wow. It also says it's a 75 Trans Am with limited slip. It doesn't have an limited slip tag on it though.

What's wrong with the front of this car. Is that a 75 bumper cover with a 76 nose? Or is it a 74 nose and 75 bumper cover?

Doug, that's a stock 75 nose and bumper. It's missing the filler strip that goes between the bumper and nose. They tended to deteriorate over the years. They're still available from GM and can be found all of the time on Ebay for around $80. The car doesn't look bad from the pictures you've posted, especially for $1000.

The car has waves and repairs in it, but I've seen worse. That looks SOOO much better with the filler piece in it. Very nice car. What's the deal with the park lights in the grill though? I'd sa the car could be had for less. But's butchered under the hood. Auto car, A/C is hosed badly. Here's the seats in it. They aren't as good as they look. The only options I saw was a tach and a/c.

In 1975 the turn signals were moved to the grills and some "fillers" installed where the signals were in 1974. This was also the first year for the wrap-around rear window.

The seats look like they are recovered 1970 Firebird or Camaro. Probably get a couple hundred bux right there ...
