I know from PHS, my 70 GTO had Rally II's. What I do not know is whether the spare was also a Rally II. Can anyone help me? My guess is, like most manufacturers, to keep costs down, it was a simple steel wheel. If it was a steel, what color and width would it be?

I believe you could get either. The rally II spare would have been an option. Can anybody confirm?

On the build sheet I have on a '70 GTO, Box 45. Wheels, states code JL -5. I would believe that indicates the spare was also a Rally II.

I ordered a new '70 GTO on aug 8, 1969. I took delivery on Sept 16, 1969. I ordered Ralleye II wheels and got a Ralleye II spare, no extra charge. I remember hitting a curb and having to use that extra rim.If I remember correctly, you did not get an extra trim ring, or center cap. I remember being pissed 'cause I scratched the rim trying to get the center cap changed!

Bill:
Thanks for the information. I guess I can take that as proof enough of the spare. Was it the same tire as the other 4 ground tires?
