I bought a transmission from back east, and I had the guy whom I bought it from make all the arrangements. That was the worst mistake I ever made.
On the way while it was being shipped out, It was delayed for delivery to my home 5 days from when it was scheduled to come. It was also "lost" twice. Then when it finally came, the IDIOT didn't even try to be careful with my tranny. He ended up losing his grip on it and it hit the concrete!!!!! When I unrapped it I realized a piece of the bellhousing the size of my middle finger had been chipped off. I demanded to speak to his supervisor, and they gave me all this BS that once it leaves the terminal they are not liable. Now I'm going to have to get the case repaired...sure ruined my day. |

Did you sign for it damaged? If so you have a claim if not they may still work with you. I would go to their website and deal with their headquarters instead of the local terminal. Stay cool when you tell them what happened. Remember you can catch a hell of a lot more flys with sugar than vinegar. Who wants to catch flys thought? Good luck!

Man, I can tell you horror stories about them.
You should not have signed for it, if it was damaged, I do HOPE you noted the damage on the delivery ticket. Actually, once it's off the back of the truck, it's your problem, they only have to bring it to the back of the truck. I have to deal with them every few weeks, I will offer some advice, Don't piss them off, then they are really difficult to work with. They suck. Be nice and talk to a supervisor at corporate, not the terminal guy's. I feel your pain...........about every other week.

Yeah, well...I decided to bite my tongue and keep it. That was the only tranny I could find that had a 67 date tag on the casing. Worst case scenario is I have the exact same tranny, just a different year. I'd just swap casings and put the tag on the good one. But not to worry, it was a piece off the end that can be easily welded and grinded back on.
That's how life goes I guess. |
