What's the difference on the spacing for the Rally II's? 4 1/2 and 5 inch spacing. Would the 5 inch spacing fit a 69 Bird? They are 15 x 7's.

No they won't fit. 69 uses the 4 1/2 ctoc spacing or 4 3/4 for you.

Damn! They were in really nice condition too. So far $51 on Ebay. The seller pays the shipping.

Mitch-what do you mean by "spacing"?The A/F&G bodies take a 5 on 4 3/4 lug pattern. The back spacing is 4 something(i can never remember the number).

The BIG cars take a 5 on 5 pattern.I have never seen a 15x7,5 on 5 wheel and have only heard about one set.

IF the wheel is indeed 15x7,odds are that is is 5 on 4 3/4.Which means that it SHOULD fit your bird.

Those wheels are *mine*!

You have been warned!! LOL

I'm actually trying to decide whether to repaint my 15x6s or bid on these 15x7s. At the price these currently are at, I may have to bid...

Mitch, To make it easier to figure out what you are looking at, you might ask for the wheel codes. All GM steel wheels are identifyed by a 2 letter code stamped to the right of the valve stem.

The most common 15" Rally II's which will fit your stock bolt pattern Firebird will have the (commonly referred to) 4 3/4 bolt pattern & were available as 15x7's. Most common of these will be stamped HM or HW.

15x6 Rally II's (normally a big car size) were also available in 4 3/4 bolt pattern size as stamping KG's & came on '77-80 base Firebirds & Esprits. Mentioned this as I have seen many early Firebird guys who liked to run the 15x6's on the front & 15x7's on the back.

I've been looking at these as well, and even though I think I had the first bid, looks like the whole board is looking at these, but for future reference I have a set of JJ 14x6 and want to upgrade ride height and improved handling w/ 15x7's on 67 lemans so if I read this correct these would also fit mine. Can someone in the know advise what bolt patterns for 15 in would fit mine?
thanks in advance for the help.

Mitch-IF those are indeed 15x7 5 on 5s,they will not fit your car. They will however fit Scott's boat.

5 on 5 bolt pattern is for barges only!
5 on 4 3/4 is for GTO/Lemans/Tempest/F-bird/69&later GPs

'ol pinion.... Don't bother putting them up.... If they are 15x7's, I would buy them. As long as they are true and not that badly rusted. Preferrably 15x8's would be better since I'm using 60's.

CobraBill... the 15X7's.... I'm in the old world tire sizes.... like G60 15 and so on... I have BF Goodrich T/A Comp Racing tires on 1984 Trans Am Aluminum Rims. Would they fit on the 15x7's?

Jeez,Mitch. You gonna make me think back to high school and the tires i had on my cars then?Fortunately for you,i speak the ancient tire language.G-60s will go on a 7 in. rim but barely. You'll have a tad bit of sidewall bow.

8 or 9 in would be perfect. And it's not that big a deal getting them widened.I did it with my Rallye IIs.

OK.... Which mook ran those Rally II's up on me!? You can have that set. I found another set that nobody bid on yet. 2 Days left, the same price and better condition. Except none of you will find it because this wonderful EBay seller couldn't figure out what he had. So he couldn't actually describe it well. He thinks they are Pontiac hubcap wheels. It's in my favor because they are 15 x 8's.

Mitch, Pontiac never made a 15x8 Rally II wheel. One has however, been available from the aftermarket (Wheel Vintiques, Summit, etc)for the last 5 years or so, close to $100 a piece.

Have the seller read you the two letter code next to valve stem. This will varify what he has. The two letter code next to the wheel size on the spine of the wheel means nothing (JK or JJ) & easily confuses the issue. The code on the spine merely refers to the ASAE wheel lip designation.

Out of the 38 different Pontiac Rally II codes, confusingly enough, Pontiac chose to use JJ & JK as actual codes for the following:

JJ: 15x6 5" BP '68 Cat & Bonny
JK: 14x7 4 3/4" BP, '69 Firebird,GP

What's the big deal with Rally 2 wheels? If you look at a bare wheel the size is stamped on it somewhere. Rally 2 wheels are one of the easiest wheels to find in wrecking yards and tire shops. You can buy them all day long for $10.00 each have them blasted and it cost about $15.00 each to have them powder coated. If you do the work yourself you can have a nice set for less than $200.00

Ken... if you go into a junk yard in NY, all they have now are parts and cars that are 5 to 8 years old. The old stuff is exhausted here. I might just buy a brand new set from PY. Will run me mabye $500 with the caps and no rings. Unless someone has a set they want to part with. I really need the 15x8's anyway. My tires are too wide for the 15x7's. And the tires are brand new. Don't wanna part with them.
