Althoe it can be a source for added Cooling :P ..back in the day when i had my last mustang when it would begin to run hot you could turn on the heater wide open and it would help to cool off the engine :P but doubt you will be missing it unless you are having over heating problems now:P

You can either plug the head and timing cover outlets with rubber caps, or run one hose from the back of the head to the timing cover. Caps are available in the "Help" section of most parts stores. I think the hose nipple on the head is smaller, so make sure to use that size hose, or find some sort of adapter that steps up to the larger size on the timing cover. Some members tap the timing cover outlet and use a pipe plug.

I have a question to go with this topic
I have a 455 with E heads, and no heater
I will drive the car on the street.
Can the heads be plugged with out overheating
problems?. Wont this restrict the flow of water throught the heads?

Best bet is to run coolant port from head to fitting on water crossover on intake. this way hot coolant from the head must run through the rad before returning to engine. This is much better than running head coolant straight to the water pump where it will just circulate hot coolant back into the engine.
