I fabricated some wooden carb spacers to put under my Tri-Power Carbs. I think the wood is probably Mahogany. Do I need to paint or seal the wood? If so, what should I paint/seal it with. The spacers are approx. 3/8" think and the main reason for installing them is to keep the heat away from the carbs.

Joel, mahogany is a very poreous wood possibly suseptable to vacumn leaks. I would use birch or maple painting only the part you can see after instalation. Randy
