If you complain, you're crazy. Jim is one of the nicest guys I have ever talked to. PHS now takes credit cards and can have your PHS documentation to you in 45 minutes by fax. This is, without a doubt, the most important resource to any Pontiac collector or enthusiast. If you don't know anything about PHS, look into the website. Its well worth the time.

I agree, PHS is a wonderful source for authenticating your Pontiac... when I first used it two years ago to make sure the 77 T/A I bought was in fact a Special Edition, I was amazed with all the documentation I received. I expected just a copy of the build sheet, but to my suprise I also received a copy of the dealer invoice, color samples, sales literature, a Pontiac bulliten for that year, production numbers, and on and on. DEFINITELY worth the $35 and as Rocky stated, if you need confirmation on the fly (like while deciding whether to buy a car or not), it can be had in under an hour. Two great big thumbs up for Pontiac Historical Services, and Jim Mattison is a super nice guy.

Ordered PHS documents for 5 GTOs. One of them was a friend of mine going to buy, PHS told me in a-email before I received the documents that it was a Le Mans. that saved a lot of $$$$ for my friend.
The Rest was OK. So I would gladly recomend them to everbody.
Thanks Roar

PHS is an unspoken necessity when buying ANY Pontiac that has the potential of being a high dollar rarety. I recently used Jim to verify a '63 Cat that I was told was a 421 HO 4 spd car. When the paperwork came back, Jim had written in pen "Yes, Scott; this is a REAL 421 HO car!"

What would be nice, though, would be if Jim could offer two levels of pricing: The standard $35 bells and whistles one and another, less-costly, "I only need the build sheet cause I'm a tightwad" pricing level.

When my package arrived, it contained a factory picture, membership forms to POCI, suggestions for storing my car, window sticker advertisements, a 1/4" thick package of body/chassis specs and a new car brochure from Pontiac.

While all of this extra fluff is certainly nice, I already have that information elsewhere and would prefer a "tightwad" price option that just includes bare-bones verification of MY car and production figures associated with that year's production model(s).

Jim is one of the best and knowledgable Pontiac guys out there. I met him a few times over the years and he always has a little inside info to share. I have bought quite a few first gen Firebirds and always use PHS services. I had to get a rush on documentation from PHS as I had put an offer on a car and needed certification ASAP. Within a few days, I had the results which led to my purchase. I sure would not forgo the service with all the fakes out there. -S

I've known Jim for years and his service is something almost taken for granted. I had heard you can not verify a SS Chevy or any at that matter. I had a high doller one-of-8-made car (68 FB RAII convert) that would have maybe been never "found" if not for PHS. My favorite thing is that Jim is a early FB nut like myself. We have shared RA info back and forth. I feel PHS has brought classic Pontiacs to a new level.

I recently did some business with Jim. I also picked his brain about some 67 GTO stuff. I found him to be friendly, professional and a true GTO man. Eric Aull
