I just purchased a 1972 Pontiac Lemans Sports Conv. I have a problem with the brakes all of a sudden seem to engage without touching pedal
. seems to happen on both front discs. after i stop and car sits they retract and i can drive again. Any ideas? Thanks, John |

Time to redo the brakes. Could be a bad hose or vacume lacking to the booster. It is power brakes right?

loosen the m/c bolts when the brakes are sticking. if the brakes release, it is likely a pushrod problem or booster problem. If they remain stuck, it is a hydraulic problem (collapsed hose, etc..).

i have a ford here with a bad booster that applies the brakes, if nothing else seems bad this is also an option.
