I have a 1972 Grandville convertable with the 455 bored .030 over and a comp hi energy cam with 2x4's and headers. This is a real boat that I could not be without. I would like to add positraction to this car. Can anyone tell me what rear ends will fit? Some salvage yards are saying that 71 thru 76 are interchangeable if I change the complete unit. What other GM's are interchangeable i.e Caprice,Buick,Olds? Can anyone help me here?

I don't think this will fit in my 72 housing as the axles are different. I would prefer to change out the complete unit housing and all.

The ONLY difference between '71-72 MP series rears & '73-75 MP series rears, is the carrier went from bolt-in axle to c-clip design axle. The '73+ c-clip design posi carrier will bolt right in a '71-72 Bonneville-Grandville MP series rear.

Am always buying these 31 spline mid series posi carriers
