Has anybody ordered any fenders of quarter panels from parts place . Is the quality of sheet metal any better than the rest of the companies out there or is it the same. Any input would be helpful.

It's not like PY is offended that we are not on the top of your list....... or that our hope of creating these forums was so you could consider us first for your Pontiac parts purchases..... or, or

Sorry I'm just amusing myself a little....

There are very few cases where sheet metal is available from different manufacturers. We all buy from the same sources with few exceptions. Give me the exact pieces you're interested in and I'll tell you if you have a choice. Then you can decide who's the best source for your purchases. I'll tell you that a BIG factor would be if you are within driving distance of the supplier. If you're talking about quarter panels and such, you could save a bundle on shipping by picking up.

Right now there is only one mfg of GTO quarter panels. They are all made in Taiwan and are of varying qualities. They are also not 'full' quarters. None have the sail panel, door jamb or trunk jamb. I need to know what year you have to explain further. There is a new company that has promised a much improved 'full' quarter panel for the 66 and 67, but it is not available yet.

I'm workng on a 67 gto HT 400 4- speed. Called parts place today and found out that they don't carry it either I don't like companies to advertise things that aren't avaiable. I have purchased items from P/Y and have been please with the items and will stay with either P/Y or ames for purchases. Just asking for inputs.

Since you have a 67, if you can wait until mid winter, hopefully these quarter panels and fenders will be available and of better quality than the current skins we all sell currently. I would not recommend the current skins unless you are really desparate and can accept a lot of plastic, block sanding and hammering to get the wheel moldings to fit.

Look at these sites National part depot, ClassicIndustries.com,Yearone.com and Flash.net if this doesn't help try typing in Classic auto restoration parts and hit the search button this where I found these. Hope this helps you.

The Radiator support for your TA is due out soon....I think. At least that's what they are telling us. The quarter skins are available but you'll have to dig around for new fenders and/or NOS quarter panels.

What year NOS TA fenders did you locate? I'm looking for some 69 NOS fenders and rear quarters if anyone has any or knows of any.

Thanks,

Bob
