I am about to do an engine swap (400) on an 86 Grand Prix and was wondering if a set of D-port HO exhaust (68-72 A body style) manifolds will fit in a 86 Grand Prix. Has anyone tried this and if it works, what mods are needed? Thank You.

I'm not sure if you know or not, but Indian Adventures makes headers for that application now.

The RA repop manifolds will fit your chassis with no problems. You will have to have custom exhaust pipes made. Get them 'mandrel' bent as muffler shop bends 'neck' the pipe down nearly a full size. For dual exhaust you will need to either fabricate or use a rear crossmember with 2 humps to clear the exhaust pipes. You will have to do that whether you use manifolds or headers.I have 2 sets that I use. One set has a 2 1/4" outlet and the other set has the 2 1/2" outlet. I just installed the Indian Adventures headers, the first weekend of this month. They fit very well and run even better. With the headers you must use a mini starter.Enjoy!
