Does anyone know if the '66 GTO tailight fits in the '67 tempest tailpanel?

I think I need to clarify why I want to know this. Some people might think that I am going to try and pass the car off as a '66 GTO, or am trying to make a clone, and might be reluctant to answer. I must assure you all that this is not the case. I am making the car into what I like and I think the '66 GTO tailights look the best and may do something custom with them. I am even leaving the 326 badges on the front (althogh it has a 400) and the 3 horizontal pot metal decorative mouldings on the rear quarter panel. I am also using the '67 GTO grilles and parking lights. Again I like the way they look. Anyone that knows anything about Pontiacs would be able to tell at a glace that it is not a GTO.

That being said, if no one knows if they fit, if somebody with a '66 GTO could measure the tailight opening for me, I would very much appreciate it.

AHHhhhh!!!! I feel much better now. How about you?

They won't fit, but you may be able to bolt the covers over your existing lights for a custome look.
