Well I fixed my brakes and finally got to go for a spin. I experienced serious hesitation off the line, like it wanted to die. Saw some flames coming out of the carb. From 20 mph on up, no hesitation at all. Been told the cam may be too big for my set up also that maybe the timing isn't set right. Any ideas out these?
Here's what I've been told I am running:
1970 455 mill punched out to 462 cubic inches. Dished TRW slugs 1968 No.16 400 GTO heads. Cam is a 308/320 degrees Ram Air IV grind with .468-inch lift. Quadrajet Carb, headers.

Sounds like a easy fix. I doubt it's the cam. Sounds like the carb or timing. I don't know much about q-jets but there are plenty who do.I bet all you need is a little tunning. By the way keep that air cleaner on when driving to help keep fires in control, or throw a oil free rag on it. I keep a fire extinguisher straped between the seats. Most of all have fun be safe, good jack stands, floor jacks ect....

Sounds like the distributor is off a tooth. Try reinstalling and timing the distributor.
