97 Bonneville trip odometer (non-digital) keeps slipping in that it gets to 9.9 and sits there and makes a clicking noise like something is binding. Started doing it randomly months ago but has now decided it likes to be re-set every 10 miles. Not looking forward to tearing out dash cluster but its gotten very annoying. Anything less than a shotgun I can do to fix it??

bummer. Can anyone suggest a manual? Helms wants $120.00 + shipping and MI tax, is there something else out there just as resourceful?

Find a speedometer shop in your area call them and ask questions. You might find out they can fix it quicker and cheaper than you think.

I aqgree. Pulling a cluster isnt to bad. but you car break a lot of plastic very easily.
Let a pro do it. A dealer will charge about 160 or so in labor (2hours worth) and to have it fixed from 100 to 300 . |
