I have a 74 T/A with an annoying problem! Upon acceleration (not necessarily hard)there is rattle and slight vibration that occurs from inside the steering column. Something is hitting the column from the inside. I have taken the wheel off and tried to pin point the rattle but the area I attempted to "pad" was not successful. The noise only occurs when the car is in gear. I know that there are rods in the column that turn the column depending on which gear is selected. If anyone knows how to correct this problem I would be grateful.
