I'll glady tell anyone to never use this company.
In 1982 I brought my '77 Trans Am into the local Aamco to have the trans built to stock specs before a long haul to Maryland. The previous owner had a manual shift kit installed and I just couldn't get it to work properly. I had to shift from 1-2-D but it wouldn't catch D unless I hit N first. Hardly a good racing setup. Anyways, $1700.00 got my car out of their shop. I got 3 blocks from the place when the driveshaft came thru the floor! Made a hole about 5" wide under the back seat. I was charged for 2 new u-joints and they put them in but used the factory original nylon retainers. I call them up and it cost me another $75.00 for the tow back to the shop and they charged me $250.00
to replace the same 2 u-joints! Needless to say I had at them with every foul word I could come up with. I ended up having to pay the towing charge only.
I made it as far as the Penn. border and the transmission was slipping big time! I rented a car from Hertz and had the car towed back home.
I had a gearhead friend of mine fix it and found out all they did was remove the valve body shift kit and the 2 u-joints.
Needless to say, this is the reason I work on cars today, I was a 18 year old kid working at min. wage and got screwed.
