Has anyone had any experience with replacment 3 point seat belts by http://morrisclassicconcepts.com/ ?

My car has the lap belt and shoulder belt (but no 2nd recepticle) but lets face it, 1968 saftey is not the same as modern day. And just a lap belt doesn't keep you from hitting the steering wheel or dash. Actually can cause internal injuries on harder impacts.

I've learned about these belts from discussion on Pro-touring.com. I actually spoke with Billy last night and they sound good. He actually supplies Rick's Camaro with thes which are in their cataloge. Supposed to bolt in exactly in the factory mounting points and bolt holes. The retractor is wide and gets pretty close to the door panel, but does not hit it.

I may go ahead and order a set of these and post a follow up.

Have you tried those belts? They seem to be a "universal fit'. That always has me alarmed, but $100 bucks less is appealing.

The Morris belts are direct fit for Camaro/Firebird/Nova only.

I spoke with the rep about these belts and was assured that the fit would be good. I ordered a set but haven't got them installed yet. I'm in the restoration process as of now and have all of the interior removed from my 69, but i'll try and take the time to mount them just to check the fit. Will let you know ASAP. I'll follow up with some pics if that will help.

I would like to get some 3 point belts for the back for my kids,anyone know of any?.. The first set of front ones look nice.. I dont like universal one they never work out right.

Tried the belts and it looks like they're not going to just bolt in without some modification. The retractor mechanism gets in the way of the seat when you move it part of the way back. I'm planning on getting a new complete floor for my bird so I could relocate the mounting hole with little difficulty. As far as the upper shoulder part that could be something else. I'm sure I can come up with something to use in conjunction with the original shoulder attachment, but again it'll take a little modifying. I contacted Wesco and they said to return them, no questions, for a refund. Not sure what route I want to go at this time. Have you heard of any other 3-point belts?

I was affraid of that with the 'universal' fit.

I went ahead and ordered the Morris belts today. Should be here late next week. I'll update once they are in and post some pix.

Looks very close. Billy swears they are dead on match for direct bolt it. He even asks about the mounting location on the floor as apparently there are differences between the years.

Will find out for sure after next week.

I just received my belts from Morris Classic Concepts and put them in tonight. They bolt in perfect and easy. They are comfortable coming across the shoulder, a little close to the neck, but without a guide mounted to the seat itself, there is no way arount it. The retractor does end up resting against the door panel, but it is not tight.

These look very similar to the universal ones posted above, but the mounting bracket for the retractor is made to clear the seat.

The only issue I had was I could not use my seat extenders as with the seat pushed back, the side hinges would hit the retractor.

The battery in my camera is dead. I'll post some pictures later.

Thanks for the info Wayne. Good to know. I am not wanting to mod everything to get them to work. So it is nice to know yours went in fine. Hopefully everything is the same from your 68 to my 69 firebird. Thanks again.

I just received my belts today. The install was simple, took about a half hour. Fit is perfect. I'd highly recommend these to anyone looking to upgrade to shoulder belts.
