Well its been 2 months of on and off working on this thing. Changed crank, cam sensors, replaced ignition module, verified fuel pressure, and checked all connections. Intermittants are the worse problems to diagnose. I found the problem today. The coil pack/ignition module mounts to an alumlnum bracket with 3 nuts. Well over time the aluminum has corroded. The module has about 15 wires to 1 screw in connection. These wires also have ground wires. But the case of the module also must be grounded and thats where the problem was. After cleaning the aluminum and remounting the module it hasn't stalled or hicupped yet. Just glad its back in service again

Congrats on your induction into the 3800 head-ache club. While 95% are easliy diagnosed, same repeatable failures......the other 5% beat your brains out. GREAT JOB!!

Thanks mean, I was really starting to get a complex. My regular job is repairing emergency vehicles, mostly ambulances and with thier complex electrical systems. But this was really throwing me for a loop. My problem was I kept digging deeper and didn't follow my own rule of check the basics. I was real close to pulling the front cover off the engine to check the timing gear {someone told me they use a plastic coating on the cam gear}. I'm just glad its fixed especially now that my tempest is down with a tranny problem
