My wife and teenage daughter went shopping on one of those bus trip things with a bunch of other women. Me and my three boys went errand running in my trusty, no wait, it wasn't that trusty, whats the word I'm looking for? Oh yeah, piece of @#*! 89 Celebrity wagon. Now wait, it did have the 4 cylinder Pontiac motor in it so it wasn't all bad. No wait, yes it was.Anyway, at one of our stops I hit the button to pop the back hatch to let them out and a really cool feedback type howl came from the radio and the dome lights dimmed. YIKES. Thats all the persuasion I needed to sell it right there. Long story short, when my wife and daughter returned home late that evening,I could hear my daughter say "who's car is that? Is uncle Kevin hear to visit? My wife, well I think seeing how my brother isn't as smart as I and drives a camaro, and the car in the driveway was a Firebird, I'm figuring she already new. That and maybe the fact that I too am a 79 graduate putting some age on but fighting it all the way, had been whining for weeks that my daily freakin driver was a boring front drive wagon for Gods sakes. She barely spoke to me for a day, UNTIL I tossed her the keys and said "take iit into town for a spin" Her and my daughter, who by the way was "OH COOL DAD" had me pop the t tops and away they went. After that the silent treatment was over. Damn, I should never have let her drive it. Was kinda liking the silence. Happy ending? Nope, wife totaled her minivan and hauling a family of six in a 4th gen Firebird wasn't cutting it. Boy I miss those kids sometimes. Kidding, boy I miss that Firebird sometimes. Ever had the misfortunes of totaling a car and dealing with an insurance company. My butt still hurts from the reaming I took. And to top it off, wasn't even her fault. Of course the second minivan that she totaled was. Well her and the deer. I've learned my lesson, my wife will NEVER drive my Goat. Well truth be told, at the rate it's progressing, neither will I but hey! I can dream. Sit behind the wheel and make those wild car sounds while clutching the old his n her in one hand, (the shifter you perverts), and the wheel in the other.
