Can't paint with no code. I have posted this in the lobby, but maby you body guys can help also. I need the correct codes for the original Iris Mist paint on a 65 GTO.
Allready have a DuPont code of 4632-L Ditzler Code DDL-50693 Rinshed-Mason Code A-1722 Any more sugestions?

Get a chip and take it to a PPG store. They can get an exact match with a chip. They have a web site: http://www.ppg.com/cr-refinish/phase1/frmHome.asp I don't know if this will help any but its better than nothing. PPG is good *****!

Not sure what your question is seeing that you have the correct codes already. 50693 is still a good and current PPG code (the DDL is an old Laquer code). Make sure you bring 50693 with you to your painter or paint jobber.

Goathead,
I know this an old Thread, and your car has been done, could you us(me) what you ending up going with as far as Paint Brand? + numbers if you recall. Also any recommendations, I want to paint my 65 Iris Mist also, but it can get confusing. Car looks awesome!!! |

Aubi, my son has an Iris Mist 65 also and I was asking the same question about a week ago. Got pretty much the same answer. Did a little checking though and Sherwin-Williams lists that color in their paints, found it on their web site. I'm probably going to pick up a pint of their single stage to use for touch ups on our 65.
P.S. I posted about the pin stripe color that he picked out a few days ago in the body shop forum. Colors that he selected really offset the Iris Mist color.

Nice to hear from you, please let me know what you think of the Sherwin-Williams stuff, I was on there website also, and was curious if that was the legit stuff..Your opinion will weigh alot with my decision. Man I really like Danny's 65! What color was the Pinstripe, I missed the thread? Thanks... |

Here it is again. Name wasn't quite finished at this point, but the stripes were. Also, we just won a bid on some belt line molding that has been redone, looks like new. Will use that and I'll refinish the one's that are currently on the car and put them away. The new fuzzies and molding will really look nice once they're in.

Wow,
 That looks wild! I have always been amazed at how someone could control their hand and the flow of paint to do that. I think I would be crapping myself if I was to try that on any car! The stripes really offset the Iris Mist. Again, let me know what you think of the Sherwin-Williams stuff.
