Anyone had trouble with getting the Felpro Blue gaskets to seal?? i had a new set of head gaskets put on my 455 at the engine shop when it was built, put engine in car, and it mixed water with the oil. Pulled engien took back to engine shop. i watched them check torque on head bolts, it was correct and they had put moly lube on the new arp bolts that i supplied. They said must have been faulty gaskets, so they put some Vicrtor Head Gaskets on it with some sealer and the heads sealed off fine. LAter on i pulled the heads to have Guides Redone Again cuz they didnt put the Magnesimu/Bronze guides in like i asked, and the car was smoking at high rpm cuz they used inserts. When i went back on with the heads i used Felpro Blue gaskets with copper seal and they worked fine, But my intake gaskets were leaking on both sides, so i pulled the new gaskets and put another set on they leaked also, at this point im pissed so i slap LaNegra Silicone on intake gaskets "That is Black silicone", and the leak was gone, but it seems i am having poor luck with FelPros anyone have same luck or is it just operator error?? torqued from inside to out on intake and to correct spec. it seems that the intake really doesnt make a good imprint on these hard Felpro Gaskets, there for causing them not to seal ??
What yall think???
Mike
