I have an opp to buy a 1967 gto with 81k orig mi!- it needs minor interior rest as well as paint-- I have the vin and data codes as well as all info from the orig owner-- how much should I pay( never wrecked and all orig! and how can I determine the motor- it is a sport coupe with basic rims and I couldnt get into the engine compartment due to being in a garage with rotted tires- please respond-- Thanks to all---

I forgot to add that it is an auto and 4 barrell- but I cant seem to match up the code "w2kzc"- can anyone help-- Thanks

4 places to check...
1. The Firewall Datatag,
2. Drivers side door for the VIN #. (The VIN will NOT match anything on the Data tag.. just a ref. for the title. and the location of what plant it was built at)
3. Front passenger side of the engine (below the heads) for the engine 2 letter code (should be YS if it's a 67 auto)
4. Depending on the build date.. check back where the distrib. comes out in the rear of the engine.. there you will find the block id. for 67 it should be: #9786133

I bought a 67 not orig mtr/trans but rebuilt, 78k miles no rust in fenders, 1/4's,floor,trunk , has tilt wheel, air, needing tail panel,paint & chrome + some int cleanup/resto for $2500 couple years ago. Dave K.

Bimini, post the vin # on the firewall, and on the drivers door post. We can help you, check that the vin on the title is the same. You can read many horror stories on this forum about that.

Look for rust on the frame.
