Didn't have much feedback in the "suspension" section so i'll post ????? here..........
I'm wanting to buy a set of drag radials for the purpose of minimizing the chance of breaking driveline components(from a slick) and getting the benefit of a somewhat sticky tire...something "dual-purpose". looking into the NITTO drag radial since they have a reputation of being pretty good. any input? thanks 1973 SD455 T/A 1979 S.E. A friend of mine ran them on a 12.80 mustang and he liked them but they were about a .1 slower than ET streets. His 60ft times are in the mid 1.70s. He did say they drove a whole lot better than the ETs though. they lasted longer also.

larry the nitto would be a good choice full tread sticky compound, really have to heat them up good if you race at the track though, radials cool down faster,go with the new 275/60/15 never tried them with pontiac torque but give them a try, plus you can still drive them in the rain.

I'm using the 275/60R15 Nitto Drag radials for the street, rated at 27.76" inflated with a 11.1" overall width measured on a 8" rim.
I combined them with radial tires on the front (I don't like to mix non-radials on the front with radial tires on the back) and they ride very nice at 28 pounds air pressure.

Do you guys think I could squeeze a Nitto 275/60-15 DR's on a repro 8" Rally 1 rim? Was wanting to get a pair of 28" tall DR's that I could drive to & from the track.
Thanks, Tim http://kurtspontiac.homestead.com/TimSimpson66GTO.html |

First time this inspection station looked for cats , evethoguh it is 25 years old. Know another place to try next week.
The Nittos look like they have about 9 3/8" tread width, slightly wider than my 9" slicks. Section width around 11.25" Close to 28" diameter. They look a little bigger than TAs as the sidewall goes a little straighter to the tread. Since no inspection sticker I didn't hit them hard in case there was a cop around!
