I'm in the process of installing the ducktail type spoiler. I've got the holes drilled and it mounts just fine.
What do I do to ensure it doesn't leak? A little seam sealer underneath?? Thanks, John 1969 Firebird resto...doing my part to keep PY profitable....

there's a product out from 3-m called strip caulk. it works well and comes apart easier than the seam sealer if you need to remove the spoiler in the future. most parts stores that carry body supplies will have it or a comparable product.

When you use the strip caulk.
Make sure you use it first on the spoiler stud bosses, set the spoiler down, then use a little on the inside of each boss, before tightening down the spoiler. I'm actually getting ready to pull my rear spoiler off for a short time, while the bird is down. I'm taking it in to a lettering company and having "BYE BYE RICE BOY" put on the back ![]() ![]() :

Just be carefull when using the the strip caulk. It is quite stiff, especially in cooler temps. Torque the bolts down very gently as the is not much give in the caulk - speaking from experience.

Hey go for it with my idea.
When I told my buddies what I was having put on the rear spoiler, they only wished they'd thought of it first.
