in plain steel for A-body - 326875 or plain steel for F-body 344003.
Or . . . does someone know of another OEM 15x7 plain steel wheel, or aftermarket 15x7 or 15x8 plain steel wheel which will fit my '72 GTO (5 on 4 3/4" pattern, 0 offset). OEM poverty caps must fit without modifications. Looking for a set to use my NOS poverty caps on my WW5 car.

Hey Lloyd - Fantastic news on the WW5! The roundport gods were smiling on you today! Be sure to catalog your road trip and pick-up with plenty of pics.
About those wheels - if you don't find a better source, you might try Year One. I've got a catalog from '98 and they had new 15x7 GM steel wheels listed as P/N 9452N for $99.95. Just popped on to their web site and they still have them in stock (same P/N), but inflation has hit: they are now $144. They're steep but a last resort nonetheless. Congrats again! Vince

Thanks, Vince!
About the wheels, I spoke with a long time friend late yesterday afternoon - and he confirmed that the 15x7 wheels I found in my '76-'81 Pontiac MPC which fit '77-'81 full size will fit and appear OEM for my GTO. Part number 9590603, but quite pricey at $160.00 list EACH! If I choose to go with those, I should be able to get 30-35% off of list, so around $105.00 to $110.00 each. I'm gonna check with Stockton and Wheel Vintiques to see what they have and check pricing before I order the GM wheels though. One problem is that no GM dealer in the Houston area has even one in stock and I need to verify that the poverty caps I have will fit properly. Anyone else?

Lloyd - check out the boneyards. I put a set of 15x7's on my 1970 Catalina so that I could run wider tires and they only cost $5/each. Mine came off a full-size wagon (1977-198?), but the wagons run a 5" bolt circle and I'm sure you're aware that you need 4 3/4" circle. You might try to find a set off a Caprice cop car. They are 7" vs. the 6" that those cars normally run and are the correct bolt circle. It might take some checking, but $5/wheel vs. $100/wheel is worth the effort.
You may also want to check with some tire stores. Years back they always had steel wheels in stock and might be able to order them through their supplier. The wheels are typically built by the same company that supplies them as OE to GM. |

lloyd, 81-90 caprice wheels will do what you want.
some police pkg cars ran an 8" wheel, i can't tell you what yr but some of our local cars had them. the pi wheels will be slighlty heavier construction than the std pass car units. mike

Thanx for the help, guys.
I'm gonna do some digging and see what I can come up with! I just knew that one day I'd find a use for those NOS poverty caps.
