Can someone with the padded Grand Am steering wheel tell me what the dimension is? I am curious as to whether the dimension is the same as the 71-72 GTO Sport wheel.

thanks.

Chris, Are you talking about a wheel with a padded grip or apadded center where the horn is. Either case I have an original 73 Grandam wheel; no cracks. What dimension do you want? I'll measure tonite and post ya tomorrow.

I also have an NOS one if you need any info. I think it's unique to 73-up A and G bodies.

I need the diameter of the wheel itself. From outside edge to outside edge and then from inside edge to inside edge. If it comes up the same as 71-72 Custom sport, I am going to attempt to use the padded part as a pattern.

15 5/8" outside to outside and 13 3/4" inside dimension. Hope it helps.

1973 GTO's also used the same wheel with small horn button as 1971-72. Grand Am and Grand Prix used the large horn pad type wheel.

Chris,
are you looking for the small center horn button? Says PMD in the center? I think it is smooth grained? Let me know as I believe I have one wrapped in plastic since 1984 and I believe in nice shape. Will have to dig it out as it hase'nt seen the light of day in nearly 20 years!!!
