I'm helping a buddy fix up a few things on his 67 GTO hardtop (see my post in "Best Pontiac Stories" for details). Anyway, one of the less urgent matters is the front bumper, which has developed little bits of surface rust on the chrome. Short of replating or outright replacement, what's the best way to treat this rust?
The objective for now is just to minimize the appearance of the rust and retard further rust development. Replating, etc. can come later. Thanks in advance. |

You can clean it up with # 00 steel wool . Followed by a good wax or chrome polish . Unfortunately the rust will come back as soon as it gets wet .

Great tip! I've got some mag wheels that have this issue right now and I can't afford to get new ones.
Where can you get this product? thanks!

I've seen Barkeeper's Friend in Wal-Mart and grocery stores, but I thought it was just a cleaner? Is it a sealer as well?
If not, what's a good sealer? |
