I installed a new throttle cable last year to my 1970 GTO, now the plastic covering on the part of the cable near where it attaches to the carb has peeled back. Another way to describe the part of the cable area, its where the metal collar area slides over the plastic covered area of the cable, that plastic covering which I think is several inches long has started to peel back a little where the metal collar slides over it. When driving the initial push to the accelerator is a little notchey. Is there a fix or correction to the problem? thanks
