Anyone know anything about MPG racing engines (machine shop) in northern Chicago area?
I've been talking to Rick there about doing the work on my 428 (block & heads). He seems knowledgeable about the particulars, but he only does 8-10 Pontiacs a year. He mostly sees Chevys & Fords.
Any insight or recommendations is appreciated.

call up midwest engine tech out of mokena.
All they do is high performance engine rebuilds. They don't do a lot of pontiac but
they really know their stuff. Built a 462 for me with 670 heads made 615 hp. super guys, off I-80 and Harlem. Ask for scott, Don't have there # handy.
Good Luck

Eric Johnson; Crete, Ill.

He built the engine in Harry Reinhold's '62 GP.

Scott & I had a discussion about his name and evidently it is actually Eric. I know him by Rick and that was what I was calling him (& he was answering to the same) on the phone when I was discussing my plans for my engine machining & assembly.
He does seem quite knowlegable about Pontiac's & engine blueprinting. My main concern id that he addmitadly "farms" some of the work out. Specifically the balancing.
I do plan on paying him a visit to see his shop and discuss this further.
I will be having the short block done as soon as I get a new set of D-port heads from Dave @ SD. Suppose to be my X-mas present, I think?
I've been a very BAD BOY! If you know what I mean.
