Found a 455 olds in a 1970 toronado today.been sitting a while but complete minus the carb.Worth anything??

Aren't all the 455s worth something? An Olds guy would probably get as excited for that as one of us would for a Pontiac 455. I'd post about it on an Olds site, if you know of one.

What are the casting letters on the ends of the heads? Depending on what they are makes a difference, but 455 Olds are about the same value as a Pontiac 455.

Toronado 455s are good merchandise - firstly, nearly every dude with a 350 Cutlass is looking for a 455...secondly because they came with big-valve heads (the heads on that engine should have a capital E cast in the lower left hand corner of the top surface)...and, lastly, the oil pan has an additional quart of capacity.
The engine you've found probably has a bad rod bearing on the front or rear crank journal. That's the typical problem that got most 455 cars parked. The best site to peddle it, free of charge, is http://www.realoldspower.com, the Olds equivalent of PY. There seems to be constant demand for Olds parts from the eastern seaboard states. You probably could part out much of the car over that site, since there are some "darksiders" among Olds enthusiasts.

It has the E heads and is complete except for the carb.I listed on that site and 442.com.No hits yet but maybe ebay??

I have an E headed olds too, good head but kinda high compression. Try the site Bill posted or I might take it off your hands. Im in SC.

The Olds guys aren't as responsive or decisive as Pontiac enthusiasts, and, as usual, shipping deters a lot of potential buyers.
I've had Olds ads run for up to a month before drawing a response, but it's usually worth the wait. You might also post, free, on http://www.oldspower.com, which doesn't draw near the traffic of the two on which you posted, but, after all, you just need to find the one guy who has both the "wants" and the "gets".
