Haven't tried them, but I did call them to get a price. I have a 70 GTO like yours. $500 to redo the dash, plus shipping! No way, they can keep them.

I decided to give one of the moulded plastic "dash covers" a try. I forget who seels them, maybe Original Parts Group. Anyway, this thing is perfect! You absolutley cannot tell its not the real dash! It was easy to install and looks awesome after 3 years. I highly recommend it. The price: $100. Much easier on the wallet.

I had them redo my dash, and it came out perfect! It was a bit on the expensive side, but I feel it was worth it (I deserve it!). I also had them recolor my replacement console and recover the lid. I didn't like paying the bill, but they sure look good in my garage! I just need to get the bezel redone and reassemble it now.

Excellent quality. Very expensive. It all depends on what kind of car you're doing. Goatman is correct, those dash covers are excellent when you compare the alternatives. Easy to install, no long lead time and under $100 with shipping.

I had them do my '69 T/A dash as well as a dash for a '70 Bronco. They both turned out perfect. I was lucky enough to live close enough to drive to them, so I didn't have to pay for shipping. they are expensive, but if you value your car, there's no one else that I know who does this kind of work.

I was faced with the same situation for my 69 GTO. Just Dashes wanted $550 plus you'd have to be without a dash for two months or longer.

I bought one of those dash covers and as Goatman said they're really good. If you look close you can see (along some of the seams) that it's a cover but most people will never be able to tell. The grain is excellent and it's probably less likely to crack than an original.

If you've got a matching numbers 69 Ram Air IV Judge, then it pays to use Just Dashes.

I contacted Just dashes approx. 3 weeks ago and was told it was $600 + shipping and a 10 week turn around. I know they do incredible quality work but I think it's just more than I am willing to drop. Thanks guys for the report on the covers. I have thought about those and it's good to hear positive comments. I have a 70 LeMans Sport convertible and my only concern is that the cover would pull away at hwy speeds.

If you think that's bad, I'm having Ssnake-Oyl Products in Tyler, Texas re-do my 5 seat belts. The total price $615. That's not including two new covers for the retactors. Add another $100 for those $5 items.

Remanufactured Lap Belt Assembly.......$400
Rebuilt retractors.....................$ 40
Remove & resew specification label.....$100
3 new buckle Covers. seat belt.........$ 75

I'm in the wrong business. Now does anyone wonder why concours cars are so expensive?

ive seen covers in OPG for about $100. I have also seen covers in the Performance Years catalog I just got. Any word on how they compare and if they are of good quality. I have not purchased anything from Performance years as this company is new to me and im new to this hobby. Ive ordered a few things from OPG and have been extremely dissapointed with the service and price. Im going to go with performance years from now on.

I know how you feel. I have had several frustrating experiances with OPG. I am 5 weeks waiting for several back ordered items from them. I recently placed my first order with PY and there was a minor problem with my CC info. PY staff were awsome and a pleasure to deal with. PY staff even called me on their dime and we resolved the mistaken info and my order is now on it's way.
One of the items I ordered from PY is the ABS dash cover. I'll be glad to let you know how looks and fits.

I opted to do the dash cover that I bought from PY.

It went on easy, and looks perfect. Very hard to tell unless you tap on it. I could not justify the $500 + cost at this stage of the restoration, I simply have too many other things I need.

Maybe next year I will send it out for the full blown treatment, maybe.. if this one holds up I may just leave it.

My 72 Lemans came with one of those covers and I'll admit for the price it was very good. It was important to me to make my car as perfect as possible so I wanted it to have the small PONTIAC emblem that is sunk into the pad. Theres no way of doing this except just dashes. So I pulled the plastic cover off (in peices) and sent the core to just dashes. It cost a total of $656.00 but looks new and they were able to reuse the emblem. The covers are probably good enough for most people, the only place they are noticable is around the vents if you look close.
