i have a 74 Espirit with a 3/8 gap between the radio and ash tray...
but On the JC Whitney site they have two different Molded Dash Caps for my year of car... 1970 - 1981 Pontiac Firebird Black 1970 - 1981 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...010736/c-10114 so would i go with the... 1970 - 1981 Pontiac Firebird Black?? and one more thing has anyone tried the InstallPRO Installation option on the site? they estimated a place about 17 miles from me to install it for 20$ which seemed like a great deal to me and would save alot of time... thanks... |

I have no idea what the difference is with those two but I can tell you that my cousin did not like the quality of the one he got from jc whitney for his 1970 T/A last year. He finally broke out the crowbar and opened his wallet and got a new dash from justdashes in california.

I wouldn't buy anything like that from J.C. Whitney. In fact, I wouldn't buy anything from them. I bought a so-called moulded carpet from them for a '69 Buick I owned and the quality and fit...well, in short, it was just absolute junk. Not just the fit but total quality of the product. I've heard the same from many, many people in the car hobby since then.
If you want a dash cap instead of a completely restored dash, I'd try these folks- http://www.dashcaps.com
