Default Filing Mail Fraud

What is involved in filing mail fraud for products paid for and not delivered? I assume correspondence offering a product for a price. Money sent through the mail and no product delivered.

This is how I did it a couple years ago:

http://www.usps.com/postalinspectors...dComplaint.htm

It took a few months but a postal investigator called or wrote me for further information and then sent a letter to the seller. About 2 weeks later I had my money back! I used a USPS money order and would suggest that be the form of payment to be used for any future mail transactions. I believe it is easier for the investigators to document.

good luck!

Thanks. Seems I've been burnt for the first time here on PY for a radiator and fan set up.

Skip, I'd do what Batman said, but is there someone on PY that's local that could check things out in person?

If it's anywhere around me I'd be happy to help.

I just filed with USPS. They sent me a packet to fill out and attach receipts, emails, and more info. I sent USPS money order and they traced it and sent copy of where it had been cashed to help in investigation.

Will have to wait to see what happens.

This is the first time I did not receive item after payment was received. Hope it is the last.

Most people are OK,just a few that need a wake up call or a good case of whup ass.

Hope you get your money back or parts.

Thanks guys, downloaded the forms for the USPS and since I haven't heard from the person I guess I'll have to proceed with that.

I looked that up it's a bit south of Fresno. It's a bit of a drive but I have business in Fresno on a regular basis and I would be happy to check on the status of your transaction.

Send me a PM or email if you like.

I hate to hijack a thread, but I'm in a similar situation. The seller has not received my money order(?) that was sent two weeks ago. To top it off, I lost the receipt for the postal money order, but I did pay for it with my debit card and I have a transaction number on my bank statement. I spoke with a gentleman at the USPS 1-800 number, and he recommended giving it until about the 15th of the month. Will my USPS branch be able to help me out with this (question for Pontiac Slim), or am I screwed here?

Skip, I had the same deal 2 years ago. The short version is, IF you used the USPS as your mailing resource, & he received your payment.(dosen't even have to cash a check to be in trouble here) as long as it is proven he received it, which usps, can do.

You have Legal FEDERAL rights.

I also filed charges with the F.B.I., two days later, my money was in my hand. What a coincidence...

Very Ugly but sometimes necessary!

I am having the SAME problem right now with an individual from this site...I have waited 10 MONTHS for my fenders with nothing. I sent money order almost IMMEDIATELY for the fenders, shipping included, and have received nothing but empty promises...yet I still see this individual on here buy and selling stuff...asking to purchase stuff. Yet when I asked for my money back...around 6 months after NOT getting my shyt this person tells me he can't refund the money because I changed my mind about them...WTF?!?? Writing this is only pissing me off more and I apologize for getting angry but action is now being taken...I will get what I paid for...and if this person does not take action soon I will let the board know who it is...

Sorry about the rant but my patience has long since ran out...

Bandit Dave

Dave, I think you owe it to the members of the board to out the person involved so that other members can make an informed decision when buying parts from this person. What if someone had posted a similar experience with them before you paid for the parts? Maybe you wouldn't have made the mistake of buying from them.

I have a question, What do you do if you didn't use a USPS money order. I have been fighting with a guy for over a year. I bought a set of fenders for my other car that's not a pontiac lol sent him $500.00 never received fenders, I have every email that has come from him, even the one of him admitting he did sign it and cashed it..Then he said I would be re-imbursed soon..well that was over 6 months ago. I just don't know what to do anymore. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Diane
