Hey GTO friends, Legendary Auto Interiors is making GTO interiors and they are unbelievable. I was skeptical about ordering but heard a lot of good things about them so I did. I just received my 67 GTO convertible upholstery and door panels and they are amazing. No more garbage PUI kits for me!!! I highly recommend giving these guys a call. 2 thumbs up

I have a friend who has been using them for his Mopar cars for years. I was always sad that they didn't offer anything for the Pontiac's. I just got their catalog in the mail a couple of weeks ago and called them. Not only were they friendly, but they were really interested in my Pontiac projects. I have a low option 67 GTO and high option 68 Firebird vert, and the person I talked to had a lot of questions about other smaller soft parts were needed. I mentioned that rear view mirror covers that are colored would be nice as well as someone who would build a decent colored dash that had the steel back just like GM made also in colors. I asked why it would be so hard to make the plastic chrome pieces that outlined some seats so hard to make since not every seat GM made were 100% the same yet they were able to get them to bend enough and fit. He said that as long as they had a real good piece they could copy and if their research said it would sell, any smaller part cane be made and made well. Also mentioned that sometimes paying a little more for good parts is a savings. I, agreeded. So, I will be placing my order for a complete red interior for my own 67 GTO here in the next two weeks or so. I almost consider sending them my two front seats to restore and then cover for me. That way, I can do the whole interior myself. :) Bye friend. < Mike in Oregon >

I am getting to the final stages of my 66 GTO and will be ordering the interior within a few weeks. Can you compare for me how Legendary Interiors products stack up against the interior kit that our host sells? I got a sample of the seat material to match interion metal paint (parchament) and it has a lot of gold in it. Having come this far with $$$$$$ spent I want the best interior (I need everything from one place) for this project. You imput would be appreciated.

Larry, l bought upholstery from year one for a 66 GTO convertible I had a year ago and had nothing but problems with it. It was a PUI interior and the heat sealed pleats were flattening out as soon as I applied a little steam to them. From what I've gathered, they use a thinner vinyl that comes from South America (apparently this is the cheapest of all vinyl manufacturers $$$ wise). The new Legendary set has nice crisp heat seals and are alot heavier vinyl. They fit like a glove and in my opinion feel bulletproof. I also noticed they sew in a felt padding on the stretch panels like my originals where the PUI ones did not. My friend has a 67 GTO htp with the Parchment interior. He's the one that referred me to Legendary. He also has their upholstery and door panels in his car and the color looks mint. He had just put PUI interior on his car about a year ago and ripped it off to replace it with Legendary's because of the color. You wouldn't believe the difference. I'll try to get you a picture.

That would be great. My car is just about to be ready to start putting back together and my body guy used cadallic white for the post and door edge, said it matched the sample of cloth from PY. Thats my only concern. Pictures could help prevent trouble later.
