I want to know if I can swap a 4t60e/4t65e for the c-125 that is in the car?
Wil it bolt up to the 2.8L v6? Will it work with the factory ECM? Do they mount in the frame the same? I can make any kind of mounts that I might need. The motor needs to come out for a rebuild, and I want to up the trans as well. Or maybe a 3.4 and trans swap.

If I remember correctly you can use the non-"E" trans. The 4T60 is a common swap. Most use the 4T65e when they do a 3800/3800SC swap because the ECM/ECU has the electric control for the trans.

Would it be worth while to rebuild the 2.8L or find a 3.4 to swap in?
The car is for my son(15yrs old) to drive when he gets his license. The car is in real good shape, just needs a new engine.

The 3.4L swap would be better as the block has better oil galley's. It uses the same external parts as the 2.8L so it will look stock.
If you are interested in doing the 3.4L swap, Here is a very good website with detailed instructions for doing the swap. http://www.eleventenths.org/fiero34project/
