I guess I blew it somewhere. The PPG Wash Primer I put on has no Ashesion. After sanding to the bare metal with 80 Grit I wiped it down with a final wash solvent. I was careful to not let it dry on the metal and wiped with a clean cloth. I reduced the catalysed wash primer 10% to make it spray better, then topcoated it with DP90. When doing some spot filling I noticed a little flaking when sanding down the filler. Checked it out and I can chip it off with my fingernail.

Not sure if it is using the final wipe on the bare metal or using the reducer,
DT885 in the wash primer. This is more than a little piss-off. Any ideas on the cause?

I haven't used that stuff for a while, but I don't believe you're supposed to reduce it. I found it to be pretty thin so something is wrong if you need to reduce it anyway.

I also reduce it 10%. The PPG rep advised me to. Otherwise it lays down real fuzzy.
Regarding the adhesion problem- what did you wash the surface with, and how many coats of DX did you apply?
The only time I had a similar problem, I had applied to much in an area where I overlapped wet coats. I DA'ed back off to where it featheredged. Now I only lay on one medium wet coat, just enough to give the metal a slight yellow tint. Wait at least 15 minutes, hit it with a red scotchbrite and then DP90.

I wahed down with a product Proform Final Wipe Solvent. I only layed down one heavy coat. I think i should have wiped down with just a water dampened rag instead of solvent. This product seems a little to iffy for me. Next time I'll shoot the DP90 with no pre-treatment. I know what you mean about the fuzzy - I've tried to shoot it without reducer and it was drying mid air - like shooting party string.
