Lonely connector on back of 62 Lemans dash
Hi all,
Thanks for all the previous help on technical questions. I have been knee deep in trying to fix my turn signal and found a little something that has me confused. I have attached a picture from the back side of my dash. I have what appears to be a wire that has a lead on it that can take a small lightbulb. Does this cable connect to the highlighted port in the picture below? I have not been able to get the connectors to mate after a few tries. It seems to me that this is the light for the automatic transmission indicator, but I could be wrong. I am running out of holes to lights into. Thanks in advance! les74 |

You've got it. It's for the light that illuminates the gear indicator.

That socket takes a TS53 bulb, don't use a higher candlepower bulb in there or you'll melt your NDL clear placquard in your dash! There is a service news "craftsman" on this melting problem with the wrong blub in there.
