Default Oldies but %#^$ in Denver CO

I recently travelled to Denver CO to buy a 70GTO. I see its still there but for a reason! I had called the dealership & asked all the right questions a guy looking to buy a car would. Any rust or bondo etc. He replied that he had crawled all around this car & couldn't find any rust. We talked half a dozen times or more. All from what he said & being a dealer I took his word. Forwarded him 500US deposit. He said why not fly in & drive home. I'm in Canada. So I drove 15hrs w/ a trailer & friends. Got there & he had some other flunky working for him that day. The car was a total wreck!!!. Drive home??*&^ the oil in the motor looked like mollassis, Power stearing was dry & anywhere oil could leak it was leaking. Sorry for being so long winded but ther was no way I could give him 17US for that heap. After all was said & done he would not be a man & return my deposit on a car he misrept. Bad blood boiling! Live & learn.

Thanks CWOLF I will do that. I'm an easy going feller but some things people do make you go OOOOHHHa. My brother ended up searching for me while I was just north of Denver & found me a #'s matching 70 455HO for 18US I couldn't be happier.Had to drive an extra 4hrs to go back & look @ it. But you know how that kind of thing stay's under your skin. If I were to come home empty handed after driving 30hrs & hunting for a car for 8months I don't know what I were to do.

I used to live in Denver. One day I was sooooo pissed off at my Tempest for being, well, tempermental, that I stopped there (it was on the way home) and asked if they wanted to buy it. My asking price was $10k, which was optimistic, but what the hell. I didn;t really want to get rid of it. They laughed in my face. I'm glad I still have my car. They did have a clean 69 SJ Grand Prix there once. If I could have I would have bought it.

If anyone's in the area check it out oldies but goodies. He has a 70 for 17.5 cash or a 67 for 14995 I think either one is worth no more than about 8 maybe i'm wrong but that's what I would maybe pay no more??? They are both bondo buckets but he thinks they are GOLD!!!! I did th PHS on the 70 & it is originally an auto & comes w/ mice in the glove box. I didn't even bother looking under the floors.

I'm glad you were able to find something else. $500 is nothing to sneeze at, but worth loosing it if it allowed you to walk away from a bad deal. As far as the trip; great opportunity to check out the scenes. when life gives you lemons, make lemonade :)

I live 30 minutes-with no traffic-from Denver. I would be glad to give a look at any potential Pontiac purchases in my area for PY members.

Mr FeRRis, no traffic is relative to lots of traffic.:0) I consider "no traffic" being able to drive 75 and live to talk about it. Lots of traffic=7.5 mph and dangerous to life and limb. But, since Pontiac Poor only lives 2 blocks away, my offer to speed down there is moot. What are ya workin' on Jack FeRRis? Your car or other people's or both?
