Default M/T hemi in GTO?

A truckdriver friend told me today of seeing a M/T hemi in a GTO somewhere in S.Carolina a few days ago. Anybody else ever seen it?
A few other people have mentioned seeing a Pontiac hemi over the years, and my response has been "yeah, sure you did". But this friend has seen my hemi, and the article on it in PE, so his statement has at least some credibility.

I live in Spartanburg, S.C. and I've never seen or heard of one of the hemi engines being around here, but you never know what might be stashed in a barn down here.

He happens to be a good friend of mine, no his name is not Elvis, it's Randy Evans. He has a couple of sets of the Mickey Thompson heads. And yes he has a set on a 65 GTO. It took a couple of years to fabricate, but it looks 100% factory.
And now on this weeks to tell the truth...

There is a few members here who own the M/T pontiac hemi heads. Some even use them with a blower. They are out there. Do a search for my post about
"do you ever think we will see an aftermarket pontiac hemi head?"

Re-read that thread, well some of it. It's just a Mongo vs. JSAauto BS session.
Other than Jack, I see no one else mentioned as "running" a M/T hemi. Ya, Steve has a boat that he aquired. Has some heads too. So do I but I don't have a complete running motor yet. So who are these people with blown hemi Pontiacs?

Rob...

True that would make misstep226 seem like he wasnt paying attention either lol. Again I will say All I was intending to do was give the poster {who obviosly didnt need it} another reference to read about M/T Hemi heads.

??????
How wasn't I paying attention? I have know Jack for some time and did mention him as having the only running M/T hemi that I know of. BTW, I appreciate any and all info on these heads and anyone who has them or any other hemi stuff. Hope I didn't come off like I had an attitude 'cause I don't. I'm still trying to find out how many heads were made and who owns them. Let's not kill this thread!

No problems bro I read to much into the statement. I am on pain meds for my herniated discs so I am not all there. I didnt relize the guy who started the post has one of the engines. Im an info junkie too the more non main stream the better. No harm no foul I wasnt trying to start trouble I took it the wrong way. I appreciate your clarification. Thanks again and I hope the thread lives alot longer also.

Any chance you could give me contact info for Mr. Evans (phone/e-mail/snail-mail)? If so, I thank you, and you could e-mail me from my profile.

My truckdriver friend said that the hemi he saw had two four-barrels on a manifold that said "M/T"- which, unfortunately, detracts from the credence of this story, since I don't know of any such manifold. What type of induction does Mr. Evans' hemi have? Thanks.

Sweetjudge your not the only one who would love a pair! I just couldn't afford them I'm sure it would be enough to buy another poncho in good shape. They are pretty rare from what I have seen. I hope one day someone somewhere takes a leap and makes a repo of them in aluminum with computer aided design to increase performance even more. I always imagined them with a blow thru ati charger that would be sweet pun intended !
