Apparently this guy is a PY member. He bid and won a rare set of JR headers I was selling on Ebay. Never responded to my invoices or emails. Did the same for a guy selling A 69 Pontiac convertible. So be careful or delete his bids on ebay - he may not come through. I had the please of bidding on one of his auctions and winning. I want the item, but he didn't sent that with the amount he owed me less the itme I want.
His name is Bob Adams from Ill.

I find it necessary to respond.... I did bid on his headers. I have x amount of 'car money' to use as I am sure most of you also. I had a transaction go bad that forced me in to not being able to purchase at time. He gave me negative feedback-I deserved-case closed. Get over it,relist your 'rare and desirable' headers(his words). You should have no problem selling.Ebay doesn't charge for a re-listing of a non completed transaction. He is out nothing but a couple of weeks time. I have over 2,500 positive feedback. I don't make this a habit and did feel bad on having this happen.
He then bid on a set of nos stripes for a 1968 Chevelle I was selling. He is a race car Pontiac guy. Why would he be buying a set of 37 year old stripes for a Chevy? I can prove 3 invoices sent.He is just continuing to jack with me over the headers. A very immature childish act I believe. I wish that is all I had to do was try and get back over a non completed ebay transaction.Maybe worry more on getting your car in to the 6's.I do follow your race car and do wish you good luck. He also brings up a 'car'. I was asked by a friend that was in Texas picking up 2 cars to bid for him as he was gone. I did as we have done this in the past for each other with no problem. His deal went south with 2 cars upon returning,I got screwed, ebayer was screwed. The dominos fell. I learned a valuable lesson not to get involved with even a good friend as things happen. I am sorry to bring this 'dirty laundry' up on a public forum.Money is tight for a lot of people these days. I have had several local and ebay transaction problems recently which I have not experienced til now. I will not respond to any more of this. |

Supercarbob, you should not have bid on the item if you had not had the money in hand to pay for it regardless, case closed. Bad business. No excuses!

Bob stepped up and publicly apologized, admitting that he deserved the bad feedback that Paul provided. Is more flogging necessary?

I would assume that supercarbob probably conveyed to you that he was having a problem? Is that why the other item was purchased from him,(sort've to "lighten the load")?
If the transaction went south and you neg'ed him on his feedback, why the additional flogging here? These deals are private transactions and (IMHO) should remain private. If Bob was continuing this behavior then I'd see a problem, but his feedback is good. Why would someone bid on an item, win it and then not pay? Sounds like there must have been a legit problem from Bob's end. The important part is that nobody got screwed and even the auction can be relisted for free. Bob apologized, so it should end now. ...unless I misinterpreted something...

This tells me he just blew off the seller. Stop making the seller the bad guy here. He didn't respond until it went public.

I can understand not being able to financially go through with the auction... But why not respond to the guy? If that happened to me, I'd let the seller know ASAP and apologize for wasting their time. No excuse for ignoring the seller.

I believe Paul is a very fair & understanding individiual. If Bob really wanted the headers & he was in contact with Paul about his money troubles, I believe Paul would have done everything he could have to work with him on the payment. I do a lot of selling on e bay. AS long as the buyer keeps contact with me I will work with them.

Paul is as nice and understanding as a person can be.
Yes things happen, but better communication is in order. They have both had their say, let's leave it at that. |
