This is really stupid of me but I had other things on my mind when I replaced the filter and fluid in my 68 Firebird with a Super Turbine 300 transmission. I ended up over filling it by a quart. The last thing I want to do is have to get under it again and remove some bolts and drain some of the fluid out. I have owned this car for years, and getting a good seal in the trans pan is a pain.

So, does anyone have any ideas or simple thing's I've forgot to take care of this problem?? By the way, I've done dumber things than this but it's not really public information. Thanks friends.

I would leave it, but, if you want to get out 1 quart then get a cheap hand suction pump and some extra hose, pull it out the same way you put it in. -Jim

Vac. hand pump from parts store, bout $25, get an extra length of hose with it....suck it out of the fill tube to attain proper level. Then you can use it later for many other things..bleeding brakes,etc.

not familiar with the 300 trans, does it have coolant lines? If it does start it up,
loosen a fitting and let it pump a little out. Should make a nice mess on your garage floor.

Got a trans cooler? Take the pressure line loose, start it and pump some out.

I agree with disconnecting the cooler lines and letting the trans pump it out, but I'd put a piece of hose on the line and let it pump into a gallon container instead of onto the floor. Just make sure you're on the cooler "in" line, or just disconnect both and connect to the container.

Remove the filler tube, and use a turkey baister to remove fluid.
