Default GARYSGTOGOODIES

I purchased a front sway bar off EBay that was being offered by GarsGTOGoodies. I sent a postal M.O. the following day (1/13) Starting on 2/13 I started calling and got an answering machine each time, and I left my name, phone #, and the item I was inquiring about. No call back. Finally, yesteday I gave a neg. feedback, and he almost instantly ebayed me back asking what the heck. I told him no response and no part, what was the problem! I wonder how busy can it be in Wyoming that they cannot answer the phone, but have time to stare at the computer screem. Further, as a GTO vendor, shouldn't he be on top of service to his clientele? Well, that's my rant.

Do a search under GTOGOODIES.There was a thread started 5/21/05 in this section that was locked after 3 pages of mostly complaints. It is a fairly negative review from most.Interestingly, today I saw a mention of new members to the PY forums and the name said GTOGOODIES was one of them.Hum..... seems you may be able to converse with him in person on line right here if he sees your post. Ipersonally have talked to him on the phone acouple times in the past and he was very knowledgable and cordial.
Hope you can straighten things out and ,yes,he should be on top of service to his clientle, especially Pontiac folks!! bigpop

well, as I told him, via ebay email, I only was doing a complaint as a last resort, due to the fact he always had the answering machine on, He said the piece was enroute via FedEx and would be at my home this Tue. or Wed. If so, I will retract my rating, and post the results here.

Gary is differant and sometimes can get offencive when challanged, BUT..The buyers that do regular business with him, KNOW that they can expect a better than average part in about four weeks. This is after a week of sending a Postal money order to Wyoming.

Bottom line...Gary is not for those in a hurry as he is in no hurry. True, my first purchase was the same way, but I have learned to be patient with him as I have learned that his word is good and he WILL ship it out.

It is what it is!

Hope this helps

I do not agree, because the first time I dealt with him. NOt only did I go through the same no answer of mail. BUt when the part did get to me it was so bad I had to have it done here local anyway. Trim said to be nice and in show condition, was not worth buying. I had better stuff off my own car. In the end, I had to pay his price. Wait over a month. And it WAS NOT A DECENT PART. The show trim, was not even cleaned of the grim from the prior car it was on. What honest person whold sell you show trim set and not even cleean it first? I had a local buffer fix the pieces at a cost of $165.00.

So, I do not agree that those who wait will KNOW they are gettinga better than average part. Read the other responses left about him. Then, welcome to the club of the "learned" And, the club of the answers. As in why don't that GTO guy post his auctions and feedback??

Save your money for others, as I have found many of the people right here as honest as they come. To bad if I have offended anyone, but stand in line, and your turn will come to. By the way, anyoe have an extra nice set of rear window trim for sell ?? :)

Default Great parts no problems with Gary

I have purchased numerous items from GTO Goodies(Gary) without problem.
I purchased: a perfect Dual Gate Shifter, a perfect center console, a ribbon harness, an ashtray, an emergency brake assembly, a grab handle, and some window reveals(which took me almost a year to find). All great original parts reconditioned very well. All parts were delivered within a couple of weeks. Maybe I payed a little more than I would have liked to, but that is not his fault, it's mine.
And no he didn't pay me for these kind words.

I always wondered if the part in the picture is what you get. The part in the picture looks perfect.

Default THE SAGA ENDS.

well, got my part today, a front sway bar. Sent off a money order on 1/14. Guess it is not too slow, 5+ weeks. gotta give the guy discredit, the air is thin in Wyoming. I have noticed, that the photos used in some auctions, and on the website are mighty good, so they might be cribbed. At any rate I will keep in mind that they move to a different drummer up there, now I'll go back and admit the error/damage done on EBay. After all, he is trying to make a living!!

I'm glad you are happy. I've never dealt with him, probably never will. 5 weeks is unaceptable in my book. I sell on ebay, and the only time it took 5 weeks to get a part to a customer, was when it took 4 weeks to get paid. There's no reason parts can't be shipped within a few days of funds clearing.

I've spoken to Gary on the phone and he is arrogant and hard to deal with. After speaking with him, I decided not to bid on his item. I am always suspicious of ebayers who do not accept Pay Pal.

There are some legitimate reasons for NOT accepting pay pal. We have been a licensed store in Missouri for over 30 years, and accepting MasterCard and VISA. We have an exclusive contract with our bank (which obtains a lower processing rate). Accepting pay pal would violate that contract. We do not accept pay pal.

Pay Pal aside, I won't even post Gary Wren's answers to my questions regarding a 67 hood latch assembly. I will stand by my comment that after one phone call, I decided not to do bussiness with him and I no longer look at his items on ebay.

Funny, he's always been polite and helpful to me....

...but then again, I'm a Pontiac parts vendor like him now. I never call him about stuff for me, it's to see if he has anything I don't for other customers.

I guess it depends....oh well, sorry you guys have had trouble.

Bryan

I won't bother buying anything from Gary's after seeing what others have experienced from them. I know it's hard to please everyone, but I've seen too many here get bamboozled by auctioning stuff with stored pics of past items. Anyone that uses the same picture over and over for different items is a shyster. It's completely unethical.

Bought a shifter off him. He said it was rebuilt, he only sent it after repeated e-mails and phone calls. The part had a worn out indicator lens, and huge cigarette burn in the slider. I called him and he would not return my call so I gave him negative feedback. And of course he did the same for me. Filed a complaint with the Wyoming attorney general, of course they took his side, he is a Wyoming business man. So I have filed a complaint with the Florida attorney general, they will be looking in to it, and I have a friend at the FBI who is in white collar crime, he is looking in to his practices. When you sell over the internet and ship across state lines, it is a federal matter. I guess we will see what happens. If you look at all his negative feedback, they are all the same, junk, and late shipping. I'm Italian, I don't get even I get revenge.
Edit:
He stated in his note to the attorney general that I did not know what rebuilt was, after 30 + years in the collision business, I can tell you this was not. He threatened to sue me, my attorney laughed, I hope he tries, I would love to expose him for what he really is.

Well, my 1 and only run in with Gary came at the Portland Swap meet and I can't say it was a good one. The short of it is, after a long and drawn out negotiation on a package deal of misc stuff he said "do you know who I am, I'm Gary's GTO Goodies and your an axxhole". I guess he didn't like it when I told him I'd just keep the parts rather than sell them for the low ball offer he had given me. My only problem with guys like this is, I sell at the swap meets because this is my hobby, not my business, and I guess those who make a business out of it have forgotten that were not all in it to make top dollar on everything we sell. I suppose if I was caught up in the ebay thing, I might have a different outlook on this,,,,,,,,,,,,,I guess we'll never know.

Stefan.
