I have an 88 Trans Am, and the tranny is shot. There is an 88 Firebird for sale with the 2.8 V6, and auto tranny. Will that transmission be the same as what is in the 88 Trans Am? And if so, is the transmission from the V6 Firebird weaker than the one from the T/A? I posted this in the lobby as well.

whatever you do, get to napa and get a new fan temp switch for the head that turn on the cooling fan at 190 rather than 220. Its the temp that cooks those trannys.
