Getting ready with a project dash that needs to be restored.
What's the cost running thease days and who has the better service if there is more then one jobber out there? Also when it is redone can they repaint it the color you need or is that something I have to do? Thanks for any info. Jeff

Most of them end up at Mr G's. Clean cores that don't need repair get a fast turnaround, but the others can take a long time sometimes. I have had 64 and 65 dashes sent out, and be back to me 10 days after I sent it, and that includes UPS ground travel in both directions from Florida to Texas.
Right now I have a 67 dash that has been there about 5 months. Fortunately, I don't need it, so whenever it is ready, it is ready. |

Darrell Roach with Performance Restorations in Keller,TX did mine and did a great job. It took 10-12 weeks, but that was in May. Might be faster before spring. He also did my console and it was a piece of crap before he did it, it looks as great as the dash. Darrell is a good guy.

Are we talking about the dash pad , or the gauge portion of the dash? One day I will do a frame off resto on my car and am taking notes. I have heard good things about "Just Dashes" for dash pad restoration but don't know if they do the dash facing/gauges.

I was satisfied with CV Vacuum Platers. About $300 to strip the old paint, chome , and paint black. Turn around time was ok, depends if you catch them at a good time.

When I reccomended Daryll I was speaking in reference to his outstanding work on the dash insert which hold the gauges, he also manufactures in my opinion the finest wood dash insert available for our cars. So for chrome and wood insert I woud suggest Performance Restorations in Keller Texas (Daryll Roach). I have no reccomendation for dash pads for mine is (original) perfect. Tim

Do you do restoration work? I'd like my dash done over but I don't want to tie up the car for months.
